4 weeks old!

4 weeks old tomorrow and we've made it through kennel cough with no major problems. The puppies have seperate areas for sleeping and going potty and they are actually getting up and walking over to the paper to poop. This morning there were no poops in the sleeping area!! Sometimes they still pee, but gee - they're only 4 weeks old!! Their little personalities are starting to come out. We have some adventurers and some howlers. Some are very playful while others prefer to sleep. Some are eating puppy food like it's cavier and others still prefer to chase mom down and have milk instead! They're a lot of fun!! Hopefully we will get to venture outdoors soon. That should be fun!

Hi our 4 week old puppies have kennel cough as well. i was just wondering what your experience was with the symptoms, if they were put on antibiotics, and how quickly they got over it or if they are still recovering. sorry to bug u but im so nervous and worried about them! our vet put them on antibiotics.

As for symptoms, we have the cough (sometimes sounds like gagging), and the runny nose. They had a mild case at 2 weeks but the nasal discharge didn't get green and we kept the vaproizer going and did more natural stuff. Didn't want to put them on antibiotics that young for fear of upsetting tummy to the point of them not eating, etc. and that would have caused problems of its own. Now that they're older and the discharge is actually worse this time, we went ahead with antibiotics. Some still cough from the first round but it's very mild. Some never even got runny noses. Good luck with yours - hope they're feeling better!!
